The Imperial Snake rug draws on the snake as an ancient mythological symbol of life and transformation, reinterpreted as a contemporary statement for living rooms and a wide range of interiors. Imperial Snake is a hand-tufted rug in botanical silk and wool, handmade in Portugal by Rug’Society and one of the most luxurious of its snake rugs. Part of the Neutral Collection, it shows a black-and-white banded serpent coiling across a cream ground and through a tonal grey frame of nested rectangles. Its scales are created by combining different tufting techniques, building texture and optical illusion into the surface. Adaptable to each project, it can be customised in colour, shape, texture and pattern through Rug’Society’s Custom service, while the Bespoke service creates original designs from the ground up.
