Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit … where the craftsmanship and design show all the power
Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit were marked by another great and remarkable experience full of learning and inspirations. Let’s check the highlights of this event!
The tribute that was provided o the master artisans with the Masters of Excellency awards, was the first highlight of this second edition. A total of 10 craftsmen (and woman) received an award each and was recognized by their strength to resist “when the market went through hard times”.
The intervention of Nicole Segundo, current Network Developer for Portugal at Michelangelo Foundation, at this season of Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit, was truly important to understand the importance of craftsmanship and its history. She introduced the audience to the history and main purposes of the Michelangelo Foundation, which are mainly centered around promoting, preserving and perpetuating the classical arts and crafts in order to ensure that the future generations take that mantle and preserve these complex traditions.
At the Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit, was able to assist to a panel about the “Present and Future of Craftsmanship”, with artisans Rui Pinto and Vítor Querido, Joaquim Barros representing Covet Foundation’s Creative Culture Hub, PullCast’s CEO João Barros and FRESS’s CEO Conceição Amaral, moderated by journalist Marina de Almeida.
The Live Showcases were a big highlight of this event, where you could see live master artisans meticulously performing the finest Arts & Crafts in a unique opportunity to discover the behind-the-scenes reality through different workshops. The essential of this event is taking by this showcases where we can see on live the true essence of these arts.
The discussion of Miguel Coelho specialist in brands, was an important intervention because, he explained to the audience, with a touch of humor, the weight of communication in their promotion, as well as the constant need that many companies have to be in touch with technological innovations in order to compete with other top names. He also enhanced the importance of quality as well as telling “superfluous” apart from “essential”, as well as the role that emotions play in this current digital age.
The concept of Marketing of Excellence was another focus to this season of Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit. The intervention about Marketing of Excellence show to the public several perspectives on winning high-end consumers through quality craftsmanship. Throughout the panel, each of the guests presented a history regarding each of the main business that they are a part of and also engaged in a healthy debate regarding their own perspective about the challenges that many artisans have to face with the crescent modernization.
