Valentino Garavani and André Leon Talley: Emperor’s Table
André Leon Talley, very well know on the fashion world, is an American fashion journalist, who is the former American editor-at-large of Vogue magazine. Talley has also served as international editor of the Russian fashion magazine Numéro. As a friend of Valentino Garavani, he writes the introduction of this amazing book.
Valentino Garavani, who started his career designing clothes, along with long-time business partner Giancarlo Giammetti, gave birth to the well-known Valentino brand, turning it into an international empire. Today, it is one of the most iconic fashion brands in the world, often associated with its distinctive color, “Valentino Red”. Despite retiring from fashion, he continues to create and follow his passions.
Valentino Garavani on this book “At the Emperor’s Table” makes an invitation into his refined world of the graceful and cultured living. The remarkable collection of table settings and objets d’art housed in his five residences, in Gstaad, London, Rome, New York, and Paris, as well as on his yacht, evoke the grandeur in which he lives and is presented in this first-ever edition with photographs by Oberto Gili. Recipes by Mr. Garavani’s personal chefs are also included and bring readers one step closer to discovering his extraordinary surroundings.
“When you enter his world, you enter the world of luxury; you enter a rare and opulent, yet warm space,” adds Talley.
