Established in 2013, Chapter1 has become an iconic lifestyle store in Seoul by examining boundaries between crafts and modern lifestyles after the industrial revolution. Their aim is ‘to introduce sensible solutions with reasonable decisions’ and ways to that have been choosing good materials and supplying distinctive items. The aim and the ways are characteristics of Chapter1, and they apply to 3 different platforms as forms of 3 shops delivering notions of understanding spaces, understanding products, and understanding sensitivity each. Rooming has found a new home (and look) on a small alley branching off of the main Seorae Village road. This is no small boutique, stretching out to some 560m2, Rooming has a diverse selection ranging from 20,000 won artsy knickknacks to artwork priced in the millions. Most of the products here are the creations of big names like famed Italian designer Enzo Mari, or the revolutionary of modern lighting, Poul Henningsen. Be forewarned: window shopping alone can be a most painfully tempting experience.
