MUDE<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, the Portuguese Museum of Design and Fashion<\/strong>, worked with over thirty Portuguese <\/strong>brands to display at Palacio de S\u00e3o Bento<\/strong>, the home to the Portuguese Prime-Minister<\/strong>. The exhibition explores the dialogue between a selection of pieces with others that already exist, to transform a place of sovereignty into an \u2018epicentre of Portuguese <\/strong>culture\u2019.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

The exhibition has around eighty-five pieces of different natures \u2013 furniture, lights, decorative objects, implements of agricultural products, tapestries and scientific items \u2013 from the 12th to the 21st century<\/strong>, which reflect a very comprehensive understanding of design.<\/p>\r\n

All the pieces were chosen with the intent to materialise a concept and mirror what is Portugal and the Portuguese culture<\/span>. B\u00e1rbara Coutinho<\/strong>, the responsible for this amazing project, MUDE\u2019s <\/strong>director, took three months to complete the whole project with was a \u2018great challenge\u2019 and \u2018responsibility\u2019. The exhibition, named \u201cDesign em S\u00e3o Bento \u2014 Tra\u00e7os da Cultura Portuguesa\u201d, opened on January 25th and will remain available to the public for one and a half years.<\/p>\r\n

Rug\u2019Society <\/strong>was one of the chosen brands to be apart of this very prestigious feat with the Antelope rug<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\r\n

Antelope is the name we give to fabulous animals that are wild and hard to catch; its etymology is to allude to animals with long eyelashes. There are 91 species being the most famous ones from Africa \u2013 the Impala. The antelope\u2019s horn is prized for supposed medicinal and magical powers in many places.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

The horn of the male saiga, in Eastern practice, is known as an aphrodisiac for which it has been hunted nearly to extinction. Honouring this symbology, the ANTELOPE<\/strong> <\/a>rug, made with botanical silk and wool, is ideal to bring magic to your projects.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n
