Although the Big Apple cannot boast a history of ancient cultures like the Old Continent, New York museums contain unique works from all over the planet and have nothing to envy from other important galleries.

Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is the museum of modern art and contemporary art, founded in 1937, located at 1071 Fifth Avenue, in New York, in the United States of America. Its current location is a work by Frank Lloyd Wright of 1943, one of the most important 20th-century architecture. The characteristic building immediately captured the attention of architectural critics, and is still recognized worldwide as one of the masterpieces of contemporary architecture.


Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, also known as the Met, is the largest museum in New York. The Metropolitan Museum of Art boasts a vast collection of art: from Egyptian antiquities and medieval armor to fashion, photography and contemporary art, there is something for everyone. It takes a few days to see all the wonders that are exhibited in this museum. The Met has two million works of art from all over the world, spanning 5,000 years, exhibited in over 400 galleries.

It is Manhattan’s only dedicated contemporary art museum and is respected internationally for the adventurousness and global scope of its curatorial program. In the period 2002 – 2007, the New Museum hosted the exhibitions of artists from Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, China, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Germany, Poland, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, and the United Kingdom and many other countries. One of the most complete museums ever!

American Museum of Natural History

The American Museum of Natural History (often abbreviated to AMNH) in New York is one of the most important and visited science museums in the world. Founded in 1869, the AMNH has been located since 1874 on its current site in the Upper West Side in Manhattan, overlooking Central Park in exactly the opposite position to that of the Metropolitan Museum of Art which is located on the east side of the park.
