Let’s discover who is this amazing man.
André Fu is a Hong Kong-based interior and product designer whose trademark style exhibits an intimate understanding of proportion, light, and space in conjunction with the use of tactile and lush materials, applied in ways that are at once precise and luxurious.
André Fu has decorated and designed everything from high-end luxury hotel restaurants around the globe, such as the Kioku Four Seasons in Seoul, to Art Galleries, such as Perrotin Tokyo. Truly a professional to keep eyes on in the design world, and today we present to you in Inspiration some of his best artwork today.
In the book called Legends, the designer presents a virtual tour of the diversity of spaces and his studio. The approach of André Fu about interior architecture and design is a combination of his rigorous pursuit of new Asian sensitivities and clarity in space planning.
Paying critical attention to the details of everyday life, André Fu and his studio have applied its vision of design to the fundamental categories of space, proportion, light, and luxurious materials, creating indulgent and inspirational hospitality spaces throughout the world, as you can see from the images of his works.
According to the designer, “living, studying and travelling between both countries over the past thirty years is why my own tastemaker sensibility reinterprets traditional notions of national identities or ‘East-meets-West aesthetics’ in a new hybrid. For me, it is about combining a seamless alignment of cultural and design sensibilities, modern luxury, and craftsmanship to shape the world around us.”
During an interview, André Fu said that his main challenge in his work is the duration of the project — typically a hotel project would take from 4 to 6 years to realize. In the age of social media where everything is instantaneous, he believes the persistence required to drive a vision forward, especially in the realization of something related to hospitality and lifestyle, becomes very challenging.
